Plenty of brands say 'a portion of profits goes to mental health'. That sentence can mean almost anything, including almost nothing. If you're buying clothing partly to help, it's fair to ask for specifics.
Five questions to ask any brand
- How much, exactly? A fixed amount per item is clearer than 'a portion of profits'.
- To whom? A named organisation you can look up.
- Does the organisation actually help people directly?
- Is the brand honest about stock, delivery and reviews elsewhere on its site?
- Does it point people to real support, not just the checkout?

Who it goes to
Man Down UK is a non-profit Community Interest Company offering free, informal peer support to men aged 18+ struggling with any kind of mental health issue. They began in Cornwall in 2019, now have 45+ groups across the UK run by volunteer facilitators, and supported over 7,500 men in 2025. Attending is free and needs no referral.
